Using Facebook Reels for business: Step by step guide.

Reels’ short and appealing nature makes them perfect for reaching massive audiences keeping in mind the limited attention spans of social media users. As a result, Facebook Business users can also take advantage of this space, expand their reach, and possibly convert more sales. Here is a short guide to how you can also do it.

The story behind Facebook Reels.

It’s widely believed that Reels first began on Instagram as a way to compete against TikTok. Meta says it is the fastest-growing content format it has thus far. Reels are the biggest contributor to growth for Instagram. They also helped Facebook’s growth through the ability to cross-post from Instagram to Facebook. It was, therefore, only a matter of how long before Facebook started its own Reels.

Their unique selling point targets Facebook business users and creators to engage with a wider audience as Reels will also appear on the pages of users who might not be direct followers. Most advantageously, they are short enough to push the message across without going over average attention spans. This adds to the toolbox for creators who want to market their business using Facebook.

Using Reels can even help retail businesses to bring their adverts, deals and promotions to life. For example, suppose the Best Buy flyer is posted on Facebook. In that case, Reels can be used to demonstrate how a product on promotion, like the Breville Juice Fountain Cold Centrifugal juicer, works, just like a mini TV commercial.

How To Create Facebook Reels for business

>Step 1:  Scroll from Stories to Reels to see the recent Reels shared for you to view. Here you will see the option to create one. Or, press the button in the top right corner on the camera icon, which appears when viewing a Reel.

To create your Reel from a Facebook business page, go to your business page in the Facebook app. Then, scroll down to Create Post and tap where it says, Reel.

Tip 1:

**If it’s your first time using your camera on the app, a prompt will appear on the screen for you to allow Facebook access to your camera. Depending on the device, it might also request access to your mic. Once these are allowed, you now have access to the Reels camera view.

>Step 2: At the bottom, tap the arrow to see recent items from your camera roll that you can upload for use. Or, tap on the record button to record a new video for use.

>Step 3: At the top, there will be an option to add music. You can either search a song by typing or scrolling for songs by genre. A time limit for the video’s length, as well as a toggle to change the speed of the video, can also be accessed at this point. It’s also possible to add effects to it, like speeding it up and slowing it down to show the subject in the video. To add some room for preparation, you can set a countdown timer to start recording after 3 or 10 seconds. And you can also set a green screen background using one of the existing options or something from your camera roll.

>Step 4: On the next screen, you’ll have the ability to add or change the music and effects if you didn’t do that previously. Add text to your video here – even set it that specific texts are only on screen for stipulated periods. Stickers, GIFs, and or emojis can also be added for a bit more pizzaz, if appropriate, though.

*The 3 dots in the upper right corner makes it easier to let Facebook know if something is not working well.

>Step 5: If you’re posting this from your personal account, you can adjust who is able to see it; however, if you are posting from your business account, you can only post a Public Reel.

>Step 6: Tap Share Reel to publish your Reel. And you’re done.

Tip 2:

***You can record your Reels in a series of clips or all in one go using various video  uploads from your gallery.

5 Things to look out for in Facebook Reels

  1. Apply what’s been working for you on Instagram Reels to Facebook Reels.
  2. Focus on adding value for your customers.
  3. Repurpose your other videos – be sure to save them without the TikTok logo – we are certain Meta do not want to support their competitor.
  4. Share your Reel on as many platforms as possible.
  5. Facebook Reels might launch an Ads feature – Keep your fingers crossed because this will help your business immensely!
